Adult Education During COVID-19

Throughout the pandemic, we have followed state and county guidelines for meetings. Currently, we expect everyone to wear a mask while indoors, regardless of vaccination status. Please do this for the well-being of others.

We have resumed live Sunday morning Bible classes for all ages. Classes begin at 9am. Our adult Bible class meets in the auditorium and is entitled “Come Together.” The class focuses on the various “one another” passages from teh New Testament and is designed to encouraged us to find strength and connection within our community of faith.

Middle School Pod

This pod meets weekly at the home of Travis M. (masked, outside, and socially distanced) for a time of study, reflection, prayer, and fellowship. The meeting is from 4pm through 6pm on Sundays.

Monday Night Women’s Bible Study (Class via Zoom)

Join a group of Conejo women via Zoom each Monday at 7pm to pray, encourage one another, engage in study and discussion together. The book chosen by the group for the fall quarter is Anxious for Nothing by Max Lucado. Tuesday Night Guys’ Group

The focus of this group is on fellowship in all its forms (eating, reading, praying, studying the Word and Christian writings). The group meets weekly on Tuesdays from 7pm until 8:30pm and is currently studying the book Falling Upward by Richard Rohr. First Fruits Small Group (Class via Zoom)

Stu and Co W. host “First Fruits,” a small group on helping and encouraging people to grow their own food right where they live. This small group will be very practical and will discuss things like planting schedules, gardening areas, vegetable types, planting, harvesting, and many other topics as we reflect on God’s creation. This small group is applicable for gardeners at all levels and gardens of all sizes. The group will meet virtually via Zoom on the first Tuesday of each month.

Fifth Commandment Small Group (Class via Zoom)

The fifth commandment tells us to “Honor your father and mother.” How do we do that in our adult lives as our parents age, face health challenges, and live hundreds or even thousands of miles away? We don’t have all of the answers, but if these questions resonate, you might want to join us via Zoom for the “Fifth Commandment” group. We meet the last Tuesday of each month to share concerns and challenges regarding our aging parents. We pray for and support one another through the journey.

Hungry / Thirsty Group (Class via Zoom)

Are you hungry and thirsty to grow in Christ and to build stronger relationships in Him? When life is normal and there is no pandemic, this group gathers for Christ-centered conversations, Bible Study based in the gospels, and prayer over dessert and coffee. The group also enjoys a monthly potluck together. Kids classes / childcare are provided on a rotating basis by group members. During the COVID-19 social distancing, however, the group meets on Wednesdays at 7pm via ZOOM to check in with one another, engage in discussion and prayer. High School Pod

During COVID-19 pandemic, this small group meets weekly on Wednesdays from 6pm through 8pm at the church building. The current series is “True Story.” The group meets outdoors and students practice social distancing and wear face masks.

TO Life Group (Class via Zoom)

All ages and family stages are welcome. Due to the social distancing protocols during COVID-19, this small group meets weekly via Zoom on Thursdays beginning at 7pm. If you would like to join in with the group, please contact Bill F. or the church office (

Online Studies with Jack

Jack W. invites members to join him in a variety of reading plans online. The most recent is Bible in One Year 2021 with Nicky Gumbel. These invitations go out periodically through the church Facebook page.

Archives: Gifts In The Church Study

During the month of January, 2004, the Conejo Valley Church adult education program engaged in a study of Gifts in the Church. Rick Marrs, longtime elder of the Conejo Church and professor of Old Testament at Pepperdine University, reviewed the biblical and historical context of the roles of men and women in their faith communities.
