Missions

“Yes, we are a Missions Church.”

Following Jesus’ commandment from Matthew 28:19, “Go and make disciples of all nations,” the Conejo Valley Church of Christ is reaching out to both local and foreign mission fields.

We are currently involved and supporting mission works in Panama (Raul and Betty Alvarado); in Baja California (Medical outreach); in Cambodia (the BEST learning center and Julie Broyles); in Mexico (the ministry of the City of Children in Ensenada); in Ghana (a medical mission clinic); in Greece (Daniel and Karly Napier); in Kenya (the Made in the Streets ministry to street kids in Nairobi); and in the UK (Megan Randolph with TeachBeyond). Our youth group spends a week each summer in Mexico, where they build a house for a local family with the Amor ministry.

The missionaries and mission efforts we are blessed to support in 2024:

Raul and Betty Alvarado work with the Metro Church in Panama City, Panama. Members from Conejo Valley Church of Christ visited and participated with the Alvarados on two occasions prior to the pandemic.

In 2023, the Conejo Valley Church of Christ began supporting Medical and Outreach missions in Baja California, Mexico. To learn more about our work with this group, please talk with Mark D. We look forward to getting to know more about the work that Baja Missions is doing both with their outreach through churches there and clinics in the area over the coming weeks and months.

Julie Broyles serves as the director of the Bible English Study Centter (BEST) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Members from Conejo Valley Church of Christ visited and participated with the Julie prior to the pandemic. To learn more about Julie’s work in Cambodia, please access her blog from the tab below.

Julie has a wonderful blog which she updates regularly called “Clips from Cambodia.” Connect to it through this link to read about her work, see photos of the people she interacts with, and catch a glimpse of the culture of Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

As you have time, please reach out to Julie with words of encouragement through email: juliebroyles1@gmail.com

The Conejo Church of Christ has been blessed by a long history of partnership and ministry with the City of Children. In 2023, both City of Children and Conejo Valley Church of Christ celebrated their 50th anniversaries. Many of Conejo’s members have, through the years, made weekend trips to “City of Children” to spend a time playing games with the kids and serving families in the surrounding neighborhood. Mark and Michele D. have been the ministry champions for this mission outreach for this congregation.

In 2023, our congregation became ministry partners and supporters of the medical clinic in Ghana, West Africa. Mark D. and Michael W. delivered medical supplies in the spring and spent several days getting to know more about the people, the needs, and the plans for the work in Ghana. We are excited about future opportunities to work with the team at the medical clinic in Ghana.

Daniel and Karly Napier work in Thessaloniki, Greece. They recently visited with the Conejo Valley congregation to share about their current work in Greece and their plans for the future.

To learn more, please contact Daniel at danielaustinnapier@gmail.com.

This congregation has had a long and rich relationship with the ministry in Nairobi, Kenya called Made-In-The-Streets (MITS). Teams of members, as well as individual couples have spent time in Kenya learning, helping, growing, encouraging and being encouraged by the lives which have been forever changed by the caring compassion of teachers, leaders, and missionaries who have worked with kids who from the streets of Nairobi.

Please click MITS to learn more about the ministry, schooling, students and staff at Made In the Streets.
