Adult Bible Classes

Live Sunday morning Bible classes for all ages meet each week at 9am.

Auditorium Class. This fall, our auditorium class will reflect on these questions in a series titled, “Back to the (not so) Basics.” The class title hints at the simultaneous simplicity and complexity of our shared faith. Class will be led by Derek Estes.

Endeavor Together: A Good Life. What does it mean to live a good life? Are you living one? Join us to explore these questions in a Sunday morning discussion-oriented class centered on what it truly means to live well. Class will be led by Connie Horton and Ty De Long.

Young Professionals Class. If you’re in the post-college years of young adulthood and seeking to grow in your faith while building community with your peers, you’re invited to come take part in our Young Professionals group. The class will start on Sunday, September 13, at 9am, in the overflow classroom nearest the coffee and donuts. Mike and Darlene Rivas will be leading this class and during the first week, the discussion will center around what themes the group would like to explore together.

Growing Families Class. If you have children in the Children’s Ministry and would like a place to connect with other parents to catch your breath over a cup of coffee, please gather in the conference room. This room is to the right of the stage in the auditorium.

Small Group Ministry

Our small group ministry has groups that meet around the Conejo Valley and beyond–some in person, some via Zoom. These groups meet for a variety of purposes including prayer, Bible study, fellowship, service, mentoring, and outreach.

Youth Ministry Meetings

There are many opportunities for our teens to gather for study, fellowship, and service.

Weekly Sunday Morning Bible Classes: Meet at our church building in the teen room at 9am each Sunday morning. This is a great time to deepen faith and friendships among peers at church. This fall, the youth group is going through a series on Luke-Acts to get a big-picture view of Jesus’ life, work, and ministry – and what it looks like for the church to carry on his mission in the world today. As we read through the stories aloud and dive into individual sections in groups, we are noticing key emphases and connections that Luke is drawing out for his readers/listeners.

Weekly Devos: Sunday evenings, the teens gather from 5:30-7pm to spend time with church friends, engage in a devo together, and prepare for the upcoming week of school. From late August through early October, the devos take place at Paige Lane Park. After the time changes and darkness comes earlier, the teens will meet for their weekly devos at the church building. Please encourage your teen to participate in these rich opportunities to build friendships, sharpen their thinking, and fall more deeply in love with God and their determination to live their lives for him.

Monday Guys’ Group

The Monday Guys’ Group is inspired by the story of the lame man who was lowered through the roof to meet Jesus. John Ortberg called the relationship of the lame man and his friends the “Fellowship of the Mat.” We all need friends like that and so we seek to build those types of relationships. This group is currently reading, “The Reason for God,” by Tim Keller.

Gather weekly from 6:30-8pm at the Reynolds’ home for a variety of activities (prayer, study, fellowship, and, of course an occasional viewing of Monday night Football) to build a “Fellowship of the Mat,” community.

This group will resume meetings with a dinner on September 14 to determine the course of study for the fall.

Monday Night Women’s Bible Study (Class via Zoom)

Be a blessing and be blessed by a multi-generational community of women. As well as spending time studying, we share what is going on in our lives and pray together. All Conejo women are welcome! The meetings begin each Monday at 7pm. If you need the Zoom Link for this meeting, please contact the church office at office@conejochurch.org.

This group will meet for dinner on September 14 and determine the course of study for the coming fall.

Fifth Commandment Small Group (Prayer and Support Gathering via Zoom)

The fifth commandment tells us to “Honor your father and mother.” How do we do that in our adult lives as our parents age, face health challenges, and live hundreds or even thousands of miles away? We don’t have all of the answers, but if these questions resonate, you might want to join us via Zoom for the “Fifth Commandment” group. We meet the last Tuesday of each month to share concerns and challenges regarding our aging parents. We pray for and support one another through the journey.

Flourishing Families

Marriage and parenting can be challenging! Join us as we share the journey of loving God, each other, and our neighbors in our homes and families. Crafted with families and parents in mind. Separate class / activity for kids led by parent / adult volunteers (on a rotating basis).

This group meets Wednesdays from 6:15-7:30pm at the CVCC church building.

This group resumes meeting on September 9!

Life Group at the Reynolds

This group gathers for Christ-centered conversations, Bible Study, and prayer over dessert and coffee. The group also enjoys a monthly potluck together.

The group meets at the Reynolds home on Wednesdays from 6:45-8pm to check in with one another and engage in discussion and prayer. If you would like to be more information about this group, please contact the church office at office@conejochurch.org.

This fall, we’ll be viewing and discussing videos on creation. Later, we will continue with episodes of “The Chosen: Season 6.”

Conejo Academy Tutoring Program

Members of our congregation volunteer to assist children at the neighborhood school improve their skills in reading and math. This takes place on Thursdays from 6:15-7:15pm (from early October through late April).

The fall tutoring resumes on October 8!

Foster Life Group

The group currently meets weekly at the Fosters on Thursdays from 7-8:30pm. All ages and family stages are welcome. Refreshments and beverages provided.

Foster Life Group this fall resumes Thursday, September 10, at 7pm with a kickoff series titled “Practicing the Way” by John Comer, a guided journey to help us discover what it means to be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did. Perhaps it will challenge you to live differently.
