“Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds…”
Hebrews 10:24

The elders of this congregation meet regularly to discuss the health and well being of our church family and have decided that now is a good time for us to meet together in a single morning worship service on Sundays. Our hope is that being together, worshiping together, and hearing the Word together will strengthen our sense of this church being a family that loves and cares for each other and together works to become more like Jesus both as we face inwardly and outwardly toward our community.

We recognize that this new schedule may be a challenge for some. Some in our church family have found the option of two service times helpful for various reasons. For some of us, having one morning service means returning to what was normal several years ago. Even so, we are naturally resistant to change. The elders have considered many situations in our discussion of this topic and feel that this change will be a good move for our congregation at this time.

How appropriate it is that our sermon theme this month is “Better Together.” Meeting together for worship should be encouraging. The positive impact will be even greater—for you and everyone—if we have better attendance in adult classes.

The new schedule begins February 2, with classes at 9:00am and worship at 10:15. (Yes, we know that’s Superbowl Sunday, but the game doesn’t start until much later) We also look forward to celebrating our new schedule with a potluck lunch following worship on February 9.

Even though a change to our routine can be a challenge, we hope everyone will embrace this for the good it can do in our church family. Let’s make meeting together a priority and “consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”
