Adult Bible Classes
We’re very grateful to be back into our gathering routines with worship services, Bible classes, and small groups. Live Sunday morning Bible classes for all ages meet each week at 9am. We currently have two options for our adult classes:
Our adult auditorium class is exploring the book of Ecclesiastes in a series titled “That Which Endures.”
In the overflow room nearest the donut station, Bill Foster will be hosting a video series titled “One At a Time,” focusing on how we might follow Jesus in becoming difference-makers in our spheres of influence.
Small Group Ministry
Our small group ministry has groups that meet around the Conejo Valley and beyond–some in person, some via Zoom. These groups meet for a variety of purposes including prayer, Bible study, fellowship, service, mentoring, and outreach.
Middle School Pod
This pod meets weekly at the home of Travis M. for a time of study, reflection, prayer, and fellowship. The meeting is from 3:30pm through 5:30pm on Sundays.
One Sunday per month (for exact dates, please watch the Family News or the calendar on the website), take and afternoon to gather with other CVCC women at the church building; deepen friendships; and make progress on craft projects / hobbies.
Monday Night Women’s Bible Study (Class via Zoom)
After a break in the month of May and early June, the women’s group will resume with a study of 1 John. Join a group of Conejo women via Zoom each Monday at 7pm to pray, encourage one another, engage in study and discussion together. If you are interested in participating, please contact the church office (email@example.com) or Paula M. for a link for the weekly meeting.
Tuesday Night Guys’ Group
The focus of this group is on fellowship in all its forms (eating, reading, praying, studying the Word and Christian writings). The group meets weekly on Tuesdays from 7pm until 8:30pm from September through mid-May. Contact the church office (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Bob P. to learn more about the group and how to become a part of it.
First Fruits Small Group (Class via Zoom)
Stu and Co W. host “First Fruits,” a small group on helping and encouraging people to grow their own food right where they live. This small group offers very practical information and discusses things like planting schedules, gardening areas, vegetable types, planting, harvesting, and many other topics as we reflect on God’s creation. The group is applicable for gardeners at all levels and gardens of all sizes. The group meet virtually via Zoom on the first Tuesday of each month with an occasional field trip to Warford Farms for a seasonal potluck.
Fifth Commandment Small Group (Prayer and Support Gathering via Zoom)
The fifth commandment tells us to “Honor your father and mother.” How do we do that in our adult lives as our parents age, face health challenges, and live hundreds or even thousands of miles away? We don’t have all of the answers, but if these questions resonate, you might want to join us via Zoom for the “Fifth Commandment” group. We meet the last Tuesday of each month to share concerns and challenges regarding our aging parents. We pray for and support one another through the journey.
Hungry / Thirsty Group (Class now in person!)
Are you hungry and thirsty to grow in Christ and to build stronger relationships in Him? When life is normal and there is no pandemic, this group gathers for Christ-centered conversations, Bible Study based in the gospels, and prayer over dessert and coffee. The group also enjoys a monthly potluck together. Kids classes / childcare are provided on a rotating basis by group members. The group meets on Wednesdays at 7pm via ZOOM and in person to check in with one another and engage in discussion and prayer. If you would like to be more information about this group, please contact the church office (email@example.com).
High School Pod
This pod meets weekly at the building on Wednesdays from 6-8pm to share time studying, praying, singing, and encouraging one another. Currently studying a series entitled “Pass It On.”
Conejo Elementary Tutoring Program
From early October through late April, members of our congregation volunteer to assist children at the neighborhood school improve their skills in reading and math. This takes place on Thursdays from 6:30-7:30pm. Over the past two years, tutoring has taken place via Zoom .
Life Group At the Fosters’
Come spend time with us weekly on Thursdays from 7-8:30pm. All ages and family stages are welcome. Refreshments and beverages provided. Please contact Bill or Melissa regarding the current study.
Saturday Guys’ Golf Outing
Hit the links for 9 holes of golf plus breakfast afterwards. A great way to connect and get better acquainted with brothers in the Lord. Get on the email list and each week you will receive a notice with tee times and have the opportunity to join in.
Potluck and Singing
If you love to sing, you and your family are invited to join us each month for a potluck and fellowship! This is a great time to build relationships with one another, learn new songs, sing some old-time favorites. Children of all ages are welcome.
Family Service Group
The goal of this group is to work with our family and friends to do one (or more) service related activity(ies) each month. This group shares ideas, works together, and encourages each other. We have taken cards to assisted-living homes, sent packages to troops, supported families dealing with cancer, cleaned beaches, etc. The group is mostly made up of families with younger children but all are welcome. Contact Kellie V.A. to learn more.
